5/14/18

Today was a lazy day. Me and Ciccarino woke up late at his house in New Jersey. We only had a few things to do before we left for Germany. We started the day off by thinking about what to bring and packing our bags. We then found ourselves at the local banking withdrawing cash and informing the bank of our departure. The day started to slow down around lunchtime. We quickly found ourselves packed and ready to go the airport. However, we still had a couple hours till we left. I think it showed that we were excited and ready to leave. Upon arrival to the airport we said goodby to Ms. Ciccarino and Andrews sister and headed into the Newark airport. As soon as we stepped in there was chaos. The security line wait was over an hour and ran down an escalator and all around the outside edge of the bottom floor. The long lines of sad faces reminded of us Norwich. The line was particularly long because security was using the dog to search everyone in line. We knew there was nothing we could do about the line and had to wait. We ending up befriending a lady behind us and talked to her for some time.
Once through security we bought a book and exchanged our currency and headed to our terminal. Boarding the plane was our first taste of what it would be like in Germany. Many of the people in line were German and did not understand the line formations that United makes passengers wait in. Many of them were raising their voices talking to each other because they were in the wrong line or confused where to go. I think from that experienced we learned that while in Germany we are going to be confused and lost at times, but we shouldn't get mad. It also plays a part when others travel to America. We have to understand that they do not know everything and cannot get mad when they do not know the language or get confused by our way of life. Unfortunately I did not take any personal pictures this day because it was all travel to the airport and departure. I have included some examples.
