Day 17 of Germany started off like the rest with wake up at
7am, breakfast and take the U7 train to class by 9am. Class today consisted of
a discussion over the assigned reading and forming groups for our final
presentations on Sunday. The Wi-Fi really sucked so we all decided to leave and
go back to the apartments to work on them a little. May have even snuck in a
power nap…

Before we met the engineer that designed the displays for
the Neues museum. Walked 20 minutes in the sunny 29°C weather. Such a beautiful day,
couldn’t possibly miss the opportunity. During the walk, we did some “learning
on the go.” Professor Feinauer gave us some background on the community garden.
Martin Jönsson, the engineer who wrote the article we
discussed earlier in class, greeted us outside with a crate of waters, I guess
we looked pretty exhausted from our 20min walk. Martin explained his thought
process and obstacles of how the exhibits came to be. We finished with a tour
of their workshop and parted ways until Sunday!
Brock, Naveed and I went to the Holocaust museum since we
didn’t get the chance to go inside the first day we thought there wouldn’t be
any line to go inside. Guess what? There was no line! Definitely worth going
today. Highly recommend! Reading the notes left behind will definitely make you
tear up, but you will learn more from first hand experiences.

So, we were trying to get back to our apartments and ended
up at Yorkstraße station. We had to go above ground to find the U7 entrance. We
saw a big dome in the skyline, so we said, “let’s go see what that is” and so
we did. Turned out to be St. Matthew’s church and a cemetery. We walked through
the cemetery because Coach said that it was something to see since they weren’t
anything like the ones back in the States. Coach was right so here’s the
picture.

hear was the peaceful sound of the birds chirping within the trees.
Aaaaand that’s the nightly post, until next time!

What in the cemetery was totally different than anything you’d experience at one in the United States?
